Project overview

This project involved the removal of a reinforced concrete knockdown panel at the Cross Island Line (East) project. The operation required a controlled demolition method to safely cut and remove the panel while minimizing vibration and structural impact on the surrounding infrastructure.

Diamond wire cutting operation

The TDSJ B5 diamond wire saw in operation during the cutting of the reinforced concrete knockdown panel. The system is securely anchored and aligned to maintain proper wire tension and tracking throughout the cutting process.

Water suppression is applied to control dust generation and cool the wire, while the diversion pulley arrangement ensures stable load distribution and minimizes vibration transfer to the surrounding structure.

The controlled cutting method allows for precise separation of the panel, including embedded reinforcement, reducing the risk of uncontrolled cracking or structural disturbance.

Dual wire saw cutting for higher efficiency

The image below captures the TDSJ B5 and TDSJ B6 wire saw systems operating simultaneously to maximize cutting efficiency.

Powered by its own independent power pack, the TDSJ B6 delivers increased cutting speed, enabling faster project completion and improved productivity on site.

Setup of the diamond wire cutting system

Controlled removal of the concrete panel

Following the completion of the diamond wire cutting process with the TDSJ B5, the operator uses a chain hoist to carefully lift and remove the concrete knockdown panel.

This methodical hoisting process maintains load control and stability, preventing sudden shifts or structural impact during panel extraction.

Safe removal and transport

The concrete block, once hoisted, is removed from the cutting area using a forklift and transported safely within the structure.

Precision cutting result

The photo below highlights the precision cutting capability of the TDSJ B5 wire saw system combined with diamond wire.

The equipment successfully delivered a clean and controlled cut through 40 mm rebar, ensuring accuracy and minimal surface damage to the surrounding concrete.
